Bendettah is invited to come to Sweden by a former mentor. If things work out as planned, she will arrive here in the middle of August and stay for three weeks. First, she will enjoy ten days of holiday touring Skåne together with her host Marie-Louise Glaving. Then she will travel on to Göteborg and finally to Stockholm.
In Göteborg and Stockholm members from fromone2another will be her hosts, and there will be different events and meetings she will attend. She will meet sponsors but also the public to share the stories of the women in Nikumbuke and the different on-going projects.
In Gothenburg we have planed a meeting at the public library, Stadsbiblioteket, on Thursday August 27th, together with Amzungo Volontärresor, who are sending mentors to LungaLunga. She will also give a speech to Lerum Aspen Rotary club, which she is cooperating with on the Ruby cup project – giving out menstruation cups, to make it easier for the girls to go to school and the women in their everyday life.
In Stockholm there will be an event for sponsors and other interested on Tuesday September 1st, but also some other activities, before Bendettah has to return home to her different duties in Kenya.
So make sure to book these dates already now, we will keep you posted on the details!
1st of September it is!
“This is something we are really looking forward to, and something we have dreamed of for a long time. As all the dates are set we will send out more details, so everyone who wants to meet this extraordinary woman can do so”, Louise says.
Louise and all the members of the board in fromone2another are really looking forward to her visit.
”It will be fantastic to show her Sweden, and let her meet all the people, who in different ways, are supporting the woman in LungaLunga”, Louise says.
