The women in Jirani just got themselves a new house for classes and office.
They used to have their meetings in a church they rented for the purpose. The new house is just 300 meters away from the church.
The land was bought a year ago and paid for by Nikumbuke Center and Araceli Alonso, from University of Wisconsin, who is sponsoring Nikumbuke. The building of the house was also sponsored by Araceli.
It took about two and a half months to complete the house, which was started using on September 1st.
This means that Nikumbuke no longer needs to rent space to have their classes. All groups in Nikumbuke now have their own land. Out of all four groups, Pandas is not complete and needs to raise money to build the houses.
